Job Opportunity: Communications Specialist

Position Name: Communications Specialist

Reports to: Executive Director

Type: Part-Time, Contract

Location: Remote (Care Share Health Alliance is North Carolina based non-profit)

The Communications Specialist will develop and implement communication strategies across a variety of channels including print, digital, and social media. They will create and review content for external communications such as press releases, newsletters, and social media campaigns.

Job Duties

  • Create flyers, signage, and all other promotional materials for Care Share events
  • Create social media graphics and verbiage for posts
  • Maintain Care Share social media accounts
  • Create and send out quarterly newsletter
  • Write and publish press releases, blog posts, and website news updates as needed
  • Create, print and disburse of Care Share promotional materials such as brochures, business cards, etc.
  • Design annual report
  • Related responsibilities as required

Required Skills

  • BA/BS in communications, marketing, public relations or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and lived experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in communications or marketing 
  • Experience working directly with racially, ethnically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse people and communities
  • Commitment to advancing health equity and healthy communities
  • Very strong organizational skills with attention to detail 
  • Flexible, able to adjust to changing priorities
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines
  • Content writing experience for all media platforms.
  • Proven social media and networking expertise

Desirable Skills

  • Bilingual Spanish/English
  • Experience with Canva
  • Experience with Adobe Suite
  • Familiar with Zoom, Microsoft Teams and/or other group platforms

Compensation

Salary: $25.00 per hour (up to 100 hours per month). Travel compensation.

This is a part-time, contracted position which requires some travel and weekends.
