Care Share Health Alliance is excited to welcome a familiar face back to the team. Jalah Blackmon has returned to Care Share as Director of the NC Public Benefits Collective, bringing her experience in public health, nonprofit program management, health equity, and collective impact work back to the organization in a new leadership role.
For Jalah, returning to Care Share is an opportunity to build on her previous work with the organization while helping advance an important statewide initiative.
“I’m excited to return to Care Share to build on my prior experience leading the NC Collaborative on Medicaid Transformation, and to contribute to a focused, critical body of work at the statewide level through the NC Public Benefits Collective,” Jalah said.
Returning to Care Share
Jalah previously led the NC Collaborative on Medicaid Transformation, giving her firsthand experience working alongside Care Share’s partners and communities to navigate changes within North Carolina’s health care landscape.
Now, as Director of the NC Public Benefits Collective, she brings that experience to work focused on strengthening access to public benefits and advancing collaborative solutions that support individuals and families across North Carolina.
Her background informs her approach to work. Jalah brings a system-thinking and social justice lens to the stakeholder engagement, community facilitation, project management and adaptable collaboration required to challenge systemic barriers to wellness, an approach closely aligned with Care Share’s mission of health equity.
Building on Experience
Jalah’s return comes at an important time as Care Share, and its partners continue working to understand and respond to changes affecting public benefits in North Carolina in the wake of H.R. 1.
Through the NC Public Benefits Collective, Jalah will support collaboration among partners and help create opportunities to share information, resources, and strategies that strengthen the collective work happening across the state.
Beyond the Work
When she’s not working to advance health equity, Jalah enjoys exercising, exploring new foods at local farmers’ markets, and spending time with her family.
We are excited to have Jalah back at Care Share and look forward to the experience, perspective, and passion she brings to the NC Public Benefits Collective.
Welcome back, Jalah!
